Green Gecko: Villa Location in Thailand
Off the Beaten Path in Thailand - but easy to get to
Green Gecko is set in Thailand's Northeast - locally known as Isan or Isaan. About 30 minutes out of the main town of Udon Thani, this rural Thai holiday villa sits on a large private estate surrounded by tranquil woodlands, plantations, fruit trees and gardens.
Free transfers are provided to and from Green Gecko and the airport. If you wish to drive your own car to the house, we will arrange a place to meet you so that you can then follow us on the last leg of your journey into the property.
Getting to Udon Thani
Udon Thani is easily accessed by car, train, bus or plane. Its international airport is very well served with numerous flights.
Flights to Udon Thani
There are daily non-stop flights from Bangkok to Udon Thani
(airport code UTH) on the national airline,
Thai Airways, as well as
on the budget airlines
Nok Air, Air Asia,
and
Thai Lion. Nok Air is a
subsidiary of Thai Airways and provides inexpensive return flights
daily. You may book your air tickets to Udon Thani online via the
internet sites of Thai Airways, Nok Air or Air Asia.
Do note that Thai Airways operate their domestic flights (including Bangkok - Udon Thani) out of the main international airport, Suwwanabhumi. The budget airlines Air Asia, Thai Lion and Nok Air operate out of the old Bangkok airport, called Don Muang, so do bear this in mind if you are planning a connecting flight either into or out of Thailand. We would recommend a minimum transfer time between the two airports of at least 3 and a half hours.
Air Asia operates regular flights between Udon Thani and Phuket, for
those wishing to combine a vacation on the beaches of the South with
a genuine Isan holiday at Green Gecko.
Nok Air operates direct flights between Chiang Mai and Udon Thani.
